Gather 'Round
What is Gather 'Round?
"Gather 'Round Homeschool is not just a curriculum, it is really an entirely new way to homeschool. Targeted
lessons that challenge and inspire curiosity in our students and are age/stage appropriate. One beautiful teacher's guide and then connecting student pages that spider web into the amazing connections of social studies, science, history, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, geography, art, Bible, and more!"

How will this be implemented in resource classes?
The lessons begin with students all coming together for a "family style" lesson. This method allows older children/teens to set an example for the younger children in regards to listening, interacting, and engaging in lessons. It also boosts the younger children's confidence levels, because they get to learn with the older children/teens. Another wonderful result I have seen is the bond students form over learning that allows them to learn how to work with people of different ages and how to be patient with others. |
Once the lesson is complete, students will split into their individual developmentally appropriate groups to complete workbooks and activities created for their specific age and developmental levels.
*The writing and grammar portions of the units will be completed during the ELA portion of the day. |
What units will be covered this year?
We will be completing nine units this year Each unit has 20 lessons (with the exception of the Christmas & Easter Bible units), and we will complete one unit every 5 weeks.
Each unit will include concepts from Bible, History, Science, Grammar, Writing, Music, and Art. The memory verses will be taught and practiced during Bible time, and the grammar and writing portions will be completed during ELA lesson time. Please see the calendar to the left for information regarding when each unit will be taught. |
